Our Story
My name is Dreama, the founder of Freya's Garden. I am a wife, mother to three, and a clinical herbalist. I was raised on a small farm in Appalachia, where I spent my days wading through creeks, exploring the woods, and growing up close to the land. Gardening, growing our own food, and living in rhythm with nature wasn't something we thought about, it was simply how we lived.
Before fully stepping into this work, I spent years as a pediatric nurse. Eventually, I chose to step away from healthcare to be home with my children, tending to my babies while also beginning to deepen my knowledge of herbal medicine and natural healing.
My path into herbalism became even more personal after losing my mother to breast cancer. She was the fourth generation of women in my family to pass from it, and that experience changed how I saw health, healing, and the choices we make every day.
It led me to question what we put into our bodies and begin looking back: toward the traditional ways of healing that have supported people for generations.
I believe herbal medicine is the people's medicine. It's something our ancestors relied on. Something that belongs to all of us. Healing shouldn't be complicated or out of reach, and it shouldn't be a luxury.
Through Freya's Garden, I create small-batch, thoughtfully crafted herbal remedies using plants I grow or carefully source, rooted in tradition and made with intention.
My hope is to help bring healing back home - into everyday life, into our families, and back into the hands of the people, where it has always belonged.
